In my humble opinion, every sport in Pakistan must
must not only be encouraged, but also be regulated and
standardized, and the sportives be disciplined with
two way conscience, national and individual, both
respecting the self dignity and the national pride, if you
don't have these, then go home, don't waste our time,
and pls. don't hurt Pakistan's dignity.

It was sad to see this news about Jansher. In some ways I feel sad for him. Allah granted him all this talent that he was able to use for his own fame and wealth as well as the glory he bought to Pakistan. Now look at where he is, the picture in the police van depicts him as a common thug. It is hard to tell that this man was probably one of the top two greatest squash player the world has EVER produced.

I cant speak from any personal experience on whether he was a gentleman or a jerk. Although I will let those who know him be the judge of that. However, I do know that he had a big chip on his shoulder/dark cloud hanging over him and his family on his brother's connection with drugs and subsequent 8 year jail term in England that he served. In addition to that as someone recalled he was usually booed even in his own country because of Jahangir. As a young 17 year old I can only imagine the pressure that must be on him at that age. Lack of education, possibly lack of a role model and any guidance along with these social pressures probably were not too healthy for him.

If you look around at many of the world's talented sport people such as McEnroe and Jennifer Capriati to name a few from tennis. One had a huge anger issue (that also resulted in his divorce from Tatum O'Neil his first wife) and the other became a drug addict for a while after winning at such an early age.

Anyway, I am not justifying Jansher's actions. I just feel sad at the situation. Often we the public want our heros to be 'real' heros and when they turn out to be humans we have a hard time dealing with it.

I pray to God that he helps Jansher mend his ways. He's done a lot for a Pakistan and maybe we owe him a bit (of course after he pays for his actions associated with this case).

Sorry, didnt mean to preach here. Perhaps just got carried away a bit.
