For all of those, me included, who wondered what a 7-star hotel looks like; this is it.
To find out what it feels like, you will have to wait an indefinite amount of time until this surreal StarTrek-like structure actually comes about in Islamabad. Will it? And if it does will it really look like this!
This would have made a great photo-quiz had written about the hotel a few days ago, had Asma not already posted the URLs to these pictures as a comment on that post, and had these pictures not been flying around in all sorts of emails from Pakistan. Despite all of the above, I thought they would still make a great post; maybe some of the koolness will rub off on the site. And I am sure the builders could do with some more free publicity.
Plus, as regular readers know, I have a thing for pictures with tullas (cops) in them (see here, here and here). And this one – even though imaginary – has that traffic cop perched right in the foreground. By the way, don’t miss the helicopter hovering above (near the helipad) either!
I’m amazed to see that some of our pakistanis have a really bad taste. maybe its not their fault. its just they r new to such things.
I’d say EMBRACE THE NEW ARCHITECT :)
its not a bad architect. and what do u think? Burj Al Arab’s architect would be so tasteless?
We cant imagine the complexities of an architect. Maybe the design would include many innate facilities for that… like quake-proof structure or whatever.
The tower is actually in the shape of Centaurus. Centaurus is an imaginary creature who’s a man and a horse. if u look at some of the pictures of Centaurus, u’ll find some similarities b/w the two.
Well, for me, Centaurus is really a great achievement. Foreigners would be attracted and our conditions r likely to improve (maybe thrice or more).
I cant wait to see it finished.
I’m sure that as soon as it finishes, the critics would be the first ones to visit it :D

Still Sane: You would be surprised to see some of the silly things people can do at times. Example: A couple of years ago some wise guy came up with this idea of planting “Islamic” trees in Islamabad and decided to plant date trees(khajoor) on the main boulevard known as Jinnah Avenue. The CDA purchased hundreds of fully grown date trees and planted them from one end to the other of the Avenue, reportedly, at a cost of Rs. 80,000 per tree. They forgot two things. One, that trees don’t have a religion, and two, dates would not grow in Islamabad. And they didn’t, and dried up. Last year when I was in Islamabad they were pulling them out of the ground. Hopefully, they have replaced them with some native trees.
Khyber and Shahid, it is NOT designed in that shape and what a silly thing it would be if it were. If you twist and contort enough anything can look like anything. But in this case the viewer wil really have to twist a lot, both physically and metaphorically. Interesting how both of you came up with same thought ;-)
Is that me noticing the building is designed in the shape of word Allah?

Mr. Zeeshan u mite want to check their site again and re-confirm that it will be a 7 star InshahAllah, as for all those who think it doesnt fit into islamabad might want to look at the rest of the world and c where their going. I think its about time pakistan saw some change. A positive change for once.
its not 7 star its only 5 star, they 7 star hotel title was refused to give it cuz its in pakistan, u can check their website for details
