Remember John McEnroe and Jimmy Conner, the US Tennis Champs? Well, Shoaib Akhtar reminds me of them. It's just that Crickets doesn't allow the kind of behavior other sports tolerate routinely. If Shoaib had been an Ice Hockey player, or soccer player, the authorities and people would simply accept his antics and have a good laugh.

The final straw for me was this:

Shoaib is pardoned yet again and his ban is lifted, so he can play for IPL with an eagerness he never showed for Pakistan.

Quotes exactly with interpretations in brackets:
"I really love playing in India. Calcutta is like my home city, Eden Gardens is like my home ground (fell short of saying that India is my home country and I never heard of Pakistan). I thank the people of India for supporting me ( I dont give a damn about the people of Pakistan ). My special thanks go to Shahrukh Khan ( a powerful Indian messiah ) for supporting me ( and liberating me from the clutches of monsters of PCB) during these hard times.
-----------------------------------------------------------

I felt so ashamed after reading cricinfo the day these statements were published that I wish Shoaib had never been a part of Pakistan cricket. Let him show a bit of tantrums in IPL, there at least he will know what discipline is when he will be kicked out in a moment by SRK and Ganguly.
