It is coupled at Ab-i-Gum and not Mach these days. Once again thanks for correction.

In old days of steam powered locomotion, the banker coupling did happen at Mach.

“Mach is a busy railway station. Here all Quetta-bound trains are coupled with an extra banking locomotive in the rear. Yet they barely crawl up the winding pass, clanking and growling over the bridges, in and out of the tunnels with evocative names and magnificiant portals.”

Please correct that extra banker locomotive (engine) in the rear is provided from Aab-e-Gum to Kolpur railway station. Machh is next station from Aab-e-Gum.
