Darwaish

I was watching the dramatic developments regarding Chief Justice of Pakistan’s case on GEO news today and wondering how much more we have to see after seeing police misbehaving with Chief Justice and his family.

Little did I know what was in store for me. During Kamran Khan’s show, Ansaar Abassi – investigative editor of The News, Islamabad – brought viewers attention to a shocking incident which happened during a live Voice of America ( VOA ) radio show interview (Round Table) yesterday (Listen by clicking audio symbol below)

Not surprisingly, it involves our Law Minister, Mr. Wasi Zafar. We have often read various reports about public displays of misbehaviors by Federal Minister for Law Wasi Zafar. But this is quite unbelievable.

Listen to the abusive language after the 34th minutes in particular. But also listen to the tone of the discussion of the entire interview in general. This, then, is our Federal Law Minister in action. Its worth hearing.

The Federal Minister said all this in response to a story by the investigative editor The News in which he wrote about the Law Minister’s “long arm of law.” Apparently he doesn’t know the difference between long arm and giving “a big hand.”

Listen to the clip and judge for yourself. I am just speechless!

ADDED 14 March: Here is the video clip of the report on this incident on GEO.

Even after so much protest, Wasi Zafar is still law minister. He must be laughing at us. This explains alot about the status of ethics and morality in Pakistan. Same will happen in case of CJ too.

I wonder how long this country can exist like this.

  2. ASLAM says:

So, no news of his removal. Seems like the President has actually praised him for his ‘guts’. Even the one consolation of his removal is not going to happen!

  3. CJ Reference says:

Here are the 35 charges against CJP. BBC has published a copy of reference.

In my view, these are stupid kind of charges and looks like a joke to me. I can’t believe Mushy is getting such poor legal advice.

  4. mazhar butt says:

WOULD THE PRESIDENT OF PAKISTAN KINDLY CARE TO INQUIRE FROM THE LAW MINISTER AS TO WHAT HE MEANT BY SAYING ”HIS LONG ARMS COULD STRETCH ON TO FAMILY” ??

IS THE LAW MINISTER A MAN WITHOUT A FAMILY?? OR ANYONE FOR THAT SAKE? ARE DEVILISH-THINKING MINISTERS AFFORDABLE BY THE NATION OR THE PRESENT REGIME??

I MAY REQUEST THE PRESIDENT TO GET RID OF SUCH PEOPLE WITH SUCH UNETHICAL THINKING FROM HIS COMPANY, THAT WOULD BE A GREAT FAVOR HE’D DO TO HIMSELF AS WELL AS THE NATION.

  5. Ahsan Inam Ullah says:

and its totally absurd that the minister who is himself involved in attack on geo is condemning it. We all should spit on face of that 3rd class law minister. My best wishes are with Insar Abbasi. Durrani, The true “loota” who started his political career as media in charge of MMA, and now he for money with other party. These all people just need money.
