It seems that kulfi carts are becoming the new Rickshaws. The subject of kitsch art and kitsch poetry. As a fan of both, I love these qulfi carts as much as I do rickshaws.
In this picture, the first misra may well relate to this very kulfi cart, viz a viz some of the more decorated ones we have seen before:
Teri saadgi mein itna husn hai, teray singhar mein kiya ho ga
Teray ghusay mein itna piyar hai, teray piyar mein kiya ho ga
Rickshaws on ATP: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11.
Unfortunately, the qulfi walla is now a dying breed. The fancy ice cream companies have now all started qulfi lines of their own and these ‘desi’ qulfi’s are dying our.
I also see some commons words like below on the public convince:
1. Dekh Magar Pyar Se.
2. Pappu Yaar Tang Na Kar
3. Phir Milen Ge
4. Maan Ki Dua – Jannat Ki Hawa

I guess that at heart every Pakistani is a poet. And anything with wheels is a good place to put your poetry on!
