Following is something I wrote 20 years ago for Adamjee College’s annual Magazine. Time flies guys! While going through my stuff today, I found the magazine and thought of sharing the article here. Pardon me if some of the write up appears too lame in 2008. Imagine that I was just a first year teenage student then. While some of the text may appear to be sarcasm, I am very proud of my college and I hope many of our readers will be able to relate to their college life in Pakistan.

i will also say that If a first year student can write this kind of article/essay he can write much more if he is still writing
Bohat Khooob!
Thoroughly enjoyed reading it … I wonder if you are writing even now. If this piece is written by a first year kid … I’m sure the kid must have written many more enjoyable pieces :)
Mujahid Saheb. thanks a lot for sharing your thougths here. Eventhough i got to see the auditorium from inside just couple of times in my two year stay at the college, i could tell its ’shan-e-rafta’ from its design.
By late 80s, intermediate colleges had been reduced to just being a ‘ladder’ to climb and go into professional colleges. It was a mad race all about getting higher marks in the exams. There were no extra-curricular activities like ‘hafta-e-talaba’ etc.
We did have inter-collegiate competitions under Karachi Inter board though. Adamjee’s debates and Table-Tennis teams were the champions. The now controversial personality, ‘Amir Liaqat Hussain’ was our batch mate and debate champion
I played in Cricket team and were are ok. We reached quarter Finals one year.
