Clearly, you didn’t live in Karachi during ’92-’95 or even later during the reins of Nawaz and Benazir.

Having watched the entire Talat Hussain interview one thing is self-evident. In all kind of ways he is putting the resposibility for all the happenings on others including the elected “democratic” government,i.e. Shaukat Aziz that he does not micro-manage and only interferes when “guidance” is sought. He has said the same about his action (acting as a post-office)about CJ reference he received from the Prime Minister. The responsibility for the Lal Masjid he has placed on the entire Civil Society-that is you and me. So Aziz is being readied for the sacrifice when the going goes really tough and the time comes.
Will Aziz comply and fall on the sword? Why not? What has he got to loose? He has no stake in it all and can just as conveniently walk back(in fact gladly and thankfully)to where he came from. For him it will be the payback time, for the time and the ride of his life that a mere international Banker(of which Pakistanis abound) could ever hope to aspire.
The Choudhries, the Wasis, the The Durranis, the MQM wallas, the Shaikh Rashids are still useful cards in many ways and cannot be dispensed with so easily. NotYet.
Therefore, stay tuned.
Establishment backed parties are opposing MQM
So what’s MQM itself? A non-establishment backed party :s. What could possibly be the logic behind this inane statement?
History repeats itself..more so in Pakistan.
People come on streets Sikander Mirza runs Ayub takes over.
People come on streets and Yahya pushes Ayub in anonymity.
People do not come on street but Zia ( not me:-P)is blown up in mid air as Aslam Beg takes over.
Faces do change, dialogues do change but same story line.
Whats the next line here…hard to figure out??
