Good observation! Jang reported the same yesterday. I don’t think American troops will actually move in. They’ll do the aerial bombing while Musharraf’s troops do the ground fighting. This is just my feeling.
The two recently delivered F16s may also see some action, pleasing US to send more.
This is not related to the above post, but has anyone noticed the US media slowly building a case for American troops going into FATA? The way the whole thing is unfolding in the media is almost a textbook example of Noam Chomsky’s “Manufacturing Consent”.
Interesting that not a single commenter picked up on the wonderful verse that Adil Najam has as his only comment on these pictures!

Nauman all the Ullemas and Scholors should gather and declare a FUTWA that SUICIDE BOMBING is HARAM - but the mullahs will not wish for unity on anything. If you give them something like this they will climb and fight over each other like baboons to reach the sweet bananas - of who will be the leader, who will look the best on tv etc etc…
There are very few good Scholors and the only Maulana I can currently think of who is considered wise is Edhi.
The Government should have tackled the takfiri ideolgists within our body of a nation ruthlessly and systematically long time ago.
We need national unity in the face of this mullah takfiri threat to our nations unity and our faith.
I never mentioned that it was a suicide bomb, I asked if Mush planted a bomb. And while PPP has accused the govt of negligence and failure to provide security, they have not accused them of the actual bombing.

Jamhoor, when I write something down, I try to make sure that I can substantiate it through some independent sources or there is some evidence to support my opinion or at least it follows a linear logical pattern. Since obviously there is no proof of your assertion, let’s disect it via the logical route.
So Pakistani forces are being attacked by terrorists in NWFP, so Mush thought that let me take this opportunity to plant a bomb in the PPP camp, who are actually supporting me these days, and kill some innocent people because that will stop the people from supporting the lawyer’s movement, even though it will cost me the only support I have on the terrorism issue….the support of PPP which just two weeks ago made sure by their absence that the All Parties Conference does not succeed as planned. Does that sound non-naive to you ?
The suicide bombings will continue until army returns to the barracks. If they decide to stay in power, the only outcome will be a civil war. I rest my case here.
