Owais Mughal

A friend who was recently on a tourism trip of Pakistan sent me this photograph of a billboard from Abbotabad. Click on the photo to see the enlarged image.

The text in Urdu approximately reads as: In case of theft, burglary, murder, kidnapping - immediately contact (the) Detective Dogs (company).

Earlier we used to have Khojis who used to follow the footprint of the burglar or murderer. Since most of the roads are mettled their role has been overtaken by the sniffers.
Most of these services are provided by my ex-military personnels these days.

I have no issue with sniffing dogs but I think we should have 911 service in pak. If the govnt can’t provide security for its people then who will. They also need to build peoples trust in pak police by doing some extreme changes which are required to straight up this dept.

Oh Dammit…you are right Bilal, these guys seems to be from Army. And Yes, Ayesha Siddiqua was right, Army is making profit.

Yeah Police usually fails, so these guys gave this “Detective Dogs” company a try.

Funny…nobody seems to call the police these days in the case of dacoity or car-jacking etc, so maybe their business will actually do well.
The two guys listed below seem to be from the army. I don’t see retired anywhere in their titles…are they on-duty military-men? Somebody call Ayesha Siddiqua…

Sniffer dogs might be a more appropriate translation. -B.A.
