Oh, and I forgot to mention, they are in their first Physics lecture in an intermediate college… that would explain the looks on their faces…

This is definitely Govt College Lahore, FSc pre-med students maybe.
They seem to be attending a lecture, as to which one, that’s hard to tell, could be one of the languages as none seem to be taking any notes :)
And it’s the 70′s, take a look at the first gentleman’s collar in the second row.

Adil, I think you gave away the Government College Lahore part with the header you use on the front page with this, which is also GC.

I assume you want people to recognize particular people in the picture. Unfortunately I cannot recognize anyone in particular. Will wait for the answer

I want to find what became of the guy sitting on the 3rd from the left in the second row from the bottom. With the round glasses. I will wager he became a big scientist or professor :-)

As Hussain has already said … its “Pakistani students in freshman physics class at the Government College.

    Location: Lahore, Pakistan
    Date taken: December 1947
    Photographer: Margaret Bourke-White
    Size: 1280 x 953 pixels (17.8 x 13.2 inches ”

Its a bit of cheat really, so the prize should go to ‘Hussain’ who I note has alreadt posted the correct answer already! …..

    The picture is here ….

and there are some others as well. Note the women tucked around a corner in another of the sets.

Margaret Bourke-White took some stunning images from around the gloge in the 1940′s …. many from the sub continent at partition.

Well at least the classroom is full and they seem to be paying attention (maybe to the photographer). Will we still see attentive students in a college class today?
