Following the targeting to Aaj TV station during the May 12 riots in Karachi, Gen. Pervez Musharraf gave an exclusive long interview to Talat Hussain and Aaj, much like he had given an interview to Geo after the attack on Geo. Here is a how it went.

Thanks to Saad for putting this on YouTube and sharing.
@Fawad: He does mention Lal Masjid in there but more in the context of Musharraf’s claims about disseminating ‘elightened moderation’ in the land.
I felt Talat Husain looked rather subdued although in the final analysis he did put Musharraf on the spot several times. The President looks very visibly rattled now.
MQM accepts that they had the Shahrah-e-Faisal and roads leading to Sindh High Court blocked
My observation:
General has lost his hallmark confidence. Chief saab ki hawa nikal gayee hai.
Bitter Truth:
you mentioned an interesting point. Fact is that people in army are very less educated; even the degree they get from PMA isn’t recognized outside. A faugi boot who had spent all his life in berracks eating daal and either getting orders or ordering people; what level can you expect from him? But this is unfortunate that this class rules Pakistan by dandaa.
This is a scary interview to watch. Musharraf comes across as a combination of a completely delusional person who has lost all touch with reality and a blatant liar who will spout off anything and expect people to believe it (“I have nothing to do with governance, this is a democracy run by the prime minister”; “Who says this is a military government?”).
I think Talat Hussain did a reasonable job but should have asked more about the abject failures of the basics of government such as law and order (e.g. Lal Masjid drama).
