This notice board is from Food Street, Lahore. It reads:

“Entering the ‘Food Street’ wearing shorts is strictly prohibited: Food Street Administration”

Among other things on this notice board, I enjoyed reading the word sakht (strictly). As if the word forbidden didn’t sound serious enough, the administration had to add a prefix strictly forbidden to make sure people undrestand that administration means business here.

I once drove a cousin recently arrived from USA to Muree, only to find out he couldnt go out of the car since he was wearing shorts. we both had a good laugh!

“I believe we should give some respect to the feelings of Lahoris, it is not about being extreme interpretation of islam it is just like,….”

From this statement it appears that it is some kind of Lahori custom which forbids men to wear shorts and particularly when there are women folks. Are the Lahori women forbidden to watch a kabaDDy game or a kushty between two naked pahalwAns?

If, not showing their legs, is a kind of Lahori Leg HijAb, then the same restricions should be also imposed on women. and they should not be admitted in the merry-making crowd without a proper HijAb (of course Lahori) . The women clad in burqA should be welcomed with open arms because their Hijab is complete! Of course the administration of the Food Street should find some appropriate welcoming arms!!

But can the others persons watch how these hidden objects eat with their burqA down?

A bearded person hides a part of his face. So, a normal face becomes respectable and docile. Should it not be also classified as a HijAb for men?

So, the next step of the Food Street Administeration should be to allow the burqA and some other types of HijAb as they deem appropriate and also only the beards to enter the sacred Lahori Food Street.

Dear Maja (I am using only your last name to aoid any bad feelings among some guardians of the morality (Lahori). I hope you will excuse me), your remark is entirely opposite to the way the prohibition will follow.

“Ok, accepted BUT only on one condition: NO BURKAS & NO BEARDS either.”

Actually those trying to relate it with religion are poor “desi gorazs” who are dying for getting more and more weternized every day. Dactar sab, they probably have never happened to go to a five star hotel, gymkhanas or services club etc. Ye manjhi wale hotel pe dal khane wale hen jo wahan khane ke sath cable pe nanhi mungi thumkian dekh kar hi khush ho jate hen. In becharon ko Dress ka kia pata aor code ki kia khabar

Let them wear what they like. Who the hell are we to dictate our likes and dislikes in public places.

Wearing flying dhotis with no underpants is ok
Wearing shalwar kameez with genitals swinging is ok

OH YES — But Agar Ap Nay Nikar Pehnee To Ap Dairay e Islam say bahar a saktay hain

    What UTTER RUBBISH
