Following is something I wrote 20 years ago for Adamjee College‘s annual Magazine. Time flies guys! While going through my stuff today, I found the magazine and thought of sharing the article here. Pardon me if some of the write up appears too lame in 2008. Imagine that I was just a first year teenage student then. While some of the text may appear to be sarcasm, I am very proud of my college and I hope many of our readers will be able to relate to their college life in Pakistan.

I was able to find following two photos at flickr of Adamjee College’s main gate. This photos are courtesy of Zain Yoonas.

Sair, the ‘naala’ I was talking about was the clogged sewrage system of apartments across the college main gate. That ‘kaala pani’ used to ebb-and-flow infront of college gates for long time in 88-89.
I also happened to visit the college in June 2005 and I happily noted that street infront of college was then as dry as a desert.
Owais sb,
your Tanz-o-Mizah has always amaze me. What have you written is not easy for 1st year college student. I am sure you would have got 80%+ marks in Urdu.
Very well written. I always wonder why didn’t you take this skill seriously, even as a part time?
the style reminds me of Ibn e Insha prose.
nicely put, you should write more. River description is just hilarious, MITHAN KOT lolz
unfortunately I am the one who skipped most of the secondary school and college classes , so I don’t have any fond memories of my Alma mater.
aah, its funny, but again this little piece reminded me of my college and how at that time the only worries i had were of getting good grades, but now alas our beloved country is in pain so much it hurts even when i am so far away.
