Pakistan’s famous TV, Radio and Film artist Shafi Muhammad Shahpassed away on Saturday, November 17, 2007. He was 57. He was suffering from many ailments. After a severe pain attack on saturday he was rushed to the hospital but he couldn’t survive. Quoting the Daily Times:

Shafi featured in more than 50 drama serials and over 100 long plays on PTV and other channels.

Shafi started his career as a broadcaster at Radio Pakistan Karachi. Later he moved to Lahore and lived at the home of Mohammad Ali and Zeba for few years. There he started his movie career. He became famous after doing few leading roles in Ashfaq Ahmed’s series ‘ek haqeeqat sau afsaane’. In early 80s Shafi worked in a very famous serial ‘deewareN’.

His other famous performances include those in ‘chand grahan’, ‘aanch’, ‘nasal’ and ‘jungle’. Shafi Muhammad also took part in many Sindhi plays at PTV. His movie career was not very long. He worked in 4 movies. Three of them were ‘talaash’, ‘Rubi’ and ‘biwi ho to aisi’.

Shafi also tried politics and contested the 2002 elections for the National Assembly from Karachi on the ticket of Pakistan Peoples Party but lost.

    ACTOR, PERFROMER AND ARTIST OF PAKISTAN SCREEN.
    I HAVE BEEN WATCHING HIS LATEST DRAMA SERIAL-
    MERI ADHURI MUHABBAT- AND WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT HE IS STILL ALIVE- BUT IT IS SAD TO
    LEARN THAT HE DIED LAST NOVEMBER IN 2007- MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE AND MAY ALLAH GIVE SABR TO
    ALL HIS NEAR AND DEAR ONES- AAMEEN-

    When I Came from my office then I have been iformed that Shafi Muhammad Shah has passed away I was shocked because i was a very great fan of him because of his voice,may allah bless him

    Shfi Muhammad Shah was the legend and he was the star of the 2 decades from 80’s to 2000

    As I came from work , some one told me Shafi Muhammad has passed away. I was so shocked that I coud’nt control my self. He was a nice person,so gentle & had such impressive voice. His drama Anch was great, my children loved watching it again & again. We will not get actor’s like these in future.May Allah thalah place him in Jannat & give patient to his family. Ameen

    It was indeed very shocking to learn shafi Mohammed is no more with us . I remember one of his hit dramaz Chand grahan he appeared so nice , roadz seemed deserted while his play was on air . One day I was watching Mr Amir Liaquats Aaya hai bulawa mujhay at that time some one told me abt Shaf iMohammed I couldnt control my tearz . He was so humble, so gentle, he had such an impressive voice . May Allah Almighty place him in jannat Ameeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen ,And give the courage to his family to bear this LOSS

    shafi muhammad is a good actor . i am always watching drama
    shafi muhammad is very good actor and mafia. he is good activity and soft speaking in the drama

    i miss shafi
