Owais Mughal

Following photo is from Bund (Dam) Road, Lahore taken on October 21, 2008. The photo is self explanatory but note how much action is going on. I was totally hooked to this photo for many seconds when I first saw it. It leaves this ‘thirst’ in a viewer to find out what happened next?

I love the brightly spotted goats–mother with three kids–very pretty. I have a feeling they were all fine, the young goatherds behind them wouldn’t be driving them into traffic if there was not a big enough gap :)

  2. Nothing will happen, we see such 100’s of scenes daily in Lahore, Bund Road is not of such importance, may be you have not seen Katchery Chowk near Government College, Bhatti Chowk, Ferozpur Road etc , where there is even more traffic and such crossings is daily routine.

I agree with gregorylent. One can add ‘and the life goes on’. Cattle, goats, stray dogs and cats etc are traffice savvy on our roads. Cows rather act as if they own the place and all traffic has to give way.

The bus in the picture must be slow as the motorcycle rickshaw is overtaking it, or is it speeding too!!!

With Hajj and Eid fast approaching, these goats are an assets which they will soon cash, most probably. The return would be handsome as the goats are ‘desi’ which fetch higher returns than others.

i think the goats survived but boys were crushed as it seems.

just a normal day anywhere on the sub-continent .. everybody adjusts for everybody … the bus slowed down, the kids sped up, same with the goats ….
