Adil Najam

Our repost of our ATP Mushaira post on Anwar Masood prompted reader Shahran Asim to send us this newer audio recording of Anwar Masood commenting on elections in Pakistan. I thought it was not only hilarious but also pertinent; and certainly worth sharing. Thanks, Shahran.

My favorites here is how he starts just with “theek hai!” and the following (especially his use of “burpa” here):

Taraqee iss qadr burpa hoee hai
kissi soorat koi ghatta nahiN hai
bass itni si paraishani hai Anwar
election sarr pe hai atta nahiN hai

Take a listen. Enjoy.

What a wonderful site for Pakistanis specially who are overseas, salam to Adil Bhai for such a nice work, I wonder how he can manage all this despite of his busy work schedule, I remember he was our Senior in ICB and was a very prominent student. The best ICBIAN ICB has ever produced

Mr. Masood is really a great poet, our young generation is not interested in serious poetry or Urdu Literature, but every one wants to read and also wants to listen Mr. Masood again and again.
