Owais Mughal

Photographer Shigri captured this face in Rawalpindi on March 12, 2010. I chose the photo for these pages because there is a lot of character and untold stories in it. Note the eyes, the cigarette and the rings in fingers among many details of the photo.

This dude resembles Amitab Bachan from some movie in this pose…doesn’t he?

I think the picture works because of the background which is colourful and moving while the addict is not and that give its contrast.

The picture is interesting but probably not very meaningful. Looks like a guy who is high.

here is a next good blog piece daniyal-mueenuddin. A news clip appeared on dawn. The short story “Our lady of Paris” is nice. He appearently has made a name for himself. What is more fasinating is that he is educated from Yale etc and is running farm in Pakistan and comes from diverse background.

    Lets unearth Mr. Daniyal Mueenuddin.
