Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto of Pakistan ZulfiToday is April 4, the death anniversary of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto – founder of PPP, President and Prime Minister of Pakistan, and one of the most iconic figures (whether you like him or not) in Pakistan’s history. He was hung to death on April 4, 1979, during the military rule of Gen. Mohammad Zia ul Haq. In this historic video, Gen Zia-ul-Haq explains and defends the trial of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto of Pakistan ZulfiThere is much, too much, in this video that is still pertinent today: the role of the military in politics, Gen. Zia’s promise of early elections, the role of a “free” judiciary, views on “justice must be done,” and so much more. Do please let us know what emotions this evokes in you.

Thanks for response but you did not touch my question, i.e., who is the god in Pakistan competent to check our claim to musalmani (even when we carry a physical mark to this effect on the part of our body of which we can’t even name here) who can give final decision on affidavits all citizens of Pakistan who claim to be Muslim, and only Muslims, after May, 1974, in the pakland (and only in the pakland) are required to submit to the government. It is supposed they would be submitted to that god, who can be none else but the Mullah in this pakland when god’s intervention in human affairs, so far as pakiland is concerned, has been totally taken over by the Mullah.

  3. Dr Ghulam Nabi Kazi says:

Readinglord – As in other countries, political issues are inextricably linked with religious issues in Pakistan. At times it is difficult to distinguish one from the other.

  4. Meengla says:

And what would Zia do had ZAB’s dead body showed him as NOT circumcised?
Now, there was Zia, the guy with the ‘balls’, according to some comments here, who was worried about a dead man’s gonads.
Sick. Zia was a sick, retrogressive, repressive usurper.
