Not unexpectedly, the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz Group has decided to quit from all cabinet positions in the coalition government it had so recently formed with Asif Zardari’s PPP.

Asif Zardari Yousuf Gillani Nawaz Sharif

According to The News:

Following the failure of London talks on the reinstatement of judges; Pakistan Muslim League (PML)-N has decided to resign from federal cabinet in central executive committee meeting underway here. Earlier, federal ministers reached to attend the meeting without official car and other privileges. The meeting has discussed that coalition with Peoples Party was made for the restoration of deposed judges but Peoples Party has failed to fulfill its commitment therefore PML-N has decided to quit the coalition.

The report here says that they have “quit the coalition” but other rumblings suggest that they have only left the cabinet and will continue to work with the PPP on the ouster of Gen. Musharraf. That, however, remains to be seen.

Our ongoing Poll on this subject (now closed) had suggested that most people did NOT believe that the coalition woud fall just yet over the judges issue. But at least for now the news is that it has.

However, this being Pakistan everything will be spun every which way and by the time the dust settles – if it ever settles – things will nearly certainly look very different from what they do now.

the judges issue isnt important enough.more important is the issue of energy crisis , food crisis , economy and welfare of ordinary pakistanis.when will our people learn that political issues are created by politicians for politics against other politicians…they are not for us.For God’s sake let PML(N) leave if that what they want and get back to real issues.

@The disaster, I was referring to, of PPP will be in
    4 phases,
Phase A has been accomplished, Sherry and
Rehman Malik have used their free card, Richard
Boucher reminded Zarbhutts of their old friends
established in Karachi. If this is ok, then
    Phase B………………

    Remarks:
Pakistani Politics is not use to coalitions, and PPP has a
    greed for power beyond imagination.
After just 42 days NS took decision in which PML-N will
not be a loser, but can triger manoeuvers to distabilize
PPP, if they can workout together with .A….. &……….(hint!!)
The fourth and last Phase D, will be a coup de grace to Zarbhutts, by, guess who, M…….s.
    contd..

Even though I don’t agree with PML(N) stance, its really heartening to see them having a spine. Too bad! one stupid issue is blinding them from the real issues faced by the nation.

  5. Daktar says:

I guess in a way this had to happen.

Though I am really sad that this has happened. But for whatever reasons good or bad, Nawaz Sharif has stood by the Justices. I think this will make him more popular.
