Dear Readers,
While All Things Pakistan has remained alive and online, it has been dormant since June 11, 2011 - when, on the blog's 5th anniversary, we decided that it was time to move on. We have been heartened by your messages and the fact that a steady traffic has continued to enjoy the archived content on ATP. While the blog itself will remain dormant, we are now beginning to add occasional (but infrequent) new material by the original authors of the blog, mostly to archive what they may now publish elsewhere. We will also be updating older posts to make sure that new readers who stumble onto this site still find it useful.
We hope you will continue to find ATP a useful venue to reflect upon and express your Pakistaniat. - Editors

This is the problem with religion, especially Islam, corrupted as ‘Mullah’s ‘Deen-e-Fassaad’. Did not the Mullah bring in a loudspeaker, which he treats a necessary adjunct to prayer? I had an experience of this when offering prayer in a small room in London. There were not more than 40 namazies but the mullah considered it necessary to use a hand-speaker. I felt suffocated and asked a young Bengali connected with the management to open a window to let in some fresh air. He said,”No Sir, if the sound of the speaker goes to the neighboring ‘goras’ they would report the matter to the council and they would stop all the business going on here”.
@shahid…
Before you cry too much let me narrate another story to you…One of the large Canadian financial institution has a large office in Mississauga/ Almost 5-7000 employees. Quite a few of them Muslim. They had a room earmarked for prayers for all faiths. Our brother started using it for Juma prayers. When the management knew about it, they booked it for the hour so only Muslim can use it. Our brother even arranged a maulana to come and head the prayers. than starts trouble. the time is only one hour. OUR brother started taking more time as they need it for wuzoo, nafils, duas and finally lunch. The one hour break stretched for 1.5-2 hours. The management warned them…Nothing happens. The room was sealed one day and now nobody used it. The good guys now travel outside, say their prayers, eat their lunch and come back in one hour. The same guys who need 2 hours to do all that now simply skip the prayers as the KUFFARS dont allow them to do it……..

The big tag did not work. And I placed the bold on the wrong side of the text. It should have been on the left end of the line and not the right as the sentence began.
Trying font size tag this time to see if it will work?
BTW, I loved the translation of paste, “chispan”! How sexy!
