Adil Najam

I first saw this photograph by Raja Aslam, one of ATP’s favorite photographers of everyday Pakistan, in Karachi Metroblog. On the face of it there is nothing remarkable about this Metro. One sees such vehicles all over Pakistan every day. But that is exactly what is remarkable.

That sag towards the left, which seems so unremarkable and ordinary to all of us is far from normal, and far from ordinary. Obviously, the vehicle is overloaded and sagging because of the overload. But, what an overload it has to be to make it sag so much. Quite clearly it is not the lanky young man in the red T-shirt that is causing this !

    This seems normal :)

The buses are usually flooded with people and all that seems scary :(

  2. Qaiser says:

This one may actually have a punctured tyre or something on the left side.

Naan Haleem is right. The expression on the face of the woman on the billboard is like she is cheering this bus on… go, bus, go!

  4. Naan Haleem says:

Well… i wonder if their is a link between the bus and the advertisement board in the background saying “karo mumkin”. The facial expression of the lady are worth noticing as well

  5. NAEEM says:

    Shahzadi indeed.
