One more thought: if the train is not moving as suggested by the photographer of Trekearth then the pixels of the train, the boy and the background should be the same, and they are not……….why? anyone.
I enjoyed the photo as well. And I like the extent of conversation that tries to determine its validity.
Earlier today, I talked to my Photo specialist, Ron B. in NYC and here is his comment: “He’s stripped in. He looks brighter than the train. He is lower res than the train and the train has motion, it’s moving, a little blurred. Also the lighting does not match. He is warmer, more sun?
This photo is from the website; trekearth.com and I looked at their Terms of Service, which included the following:

The train could be less pixellated because it is closer and not in such sharp focus. The size of the boy relative to the sidewalk suggests he is not on that surface. Also he looks like he is jumping; who runs with that posture? We would have to go so far as to say the photographer asked him to do that and this seems a little extreme. Esp. if the train is not moving is it really so dangerous to jump….? I don’t think it is a trick picture necessarily. The interest comes from wondering if anybody would dare be so foolhardy on a moving train, and the answer, by the photographer’s own admission, is no.
Not being as smart as the rest here, I went to the original pic and read the caption. The train is NOT moving so the boy is jumping over stationary wagons.
Here is the caption “the boy is jumping from one boggie to an other . the distance is not more than a half meter.these compartments are not of a moving train. they are standing on railwaylines with further plans to be attached with incoming trains. i liked his style and captured.”
Jackie looks good in shalwar btw.
Although the picture is pretty interesting, yet the more interesting thing that I gathered from here is that there is a bunch of very intelligent people commenting on this. I am glad to be part of the Pakistaniat community. Thanks to Adil and Owais.

Looking at it closely, the background area between two frieght cars that has grey color also has pixel size same as the grass, brick and boy. And the frieght cars are less pixilated. That means the background of grass, brick, that grey area and the boy is seperate photo/s and the frieght train is another photo. This is cracking me up………Fun stuff!
There is a good chance that it is a fake photo, for the following reasons; the background of the brick wall, grass and the boy is more pixilated than the train that is in the foreground. You can see this in the photoshop very easily. Also,he/she forgot to cast any shadows of the boy on the train or on the background. From the sun and camera angle boy should cast shadow on the train/grass. and the brick wall seem to have two layers to it, which doesn’t seem right. There is also a grey background between two frieght cars that doesn’t make sense. Seems to me there are atleast 3-4 photos in this one photo. In the web world anything can be imagined and made, can the editor of the website and the photographer verify the authenticity of the photo.
