The following photo is courtesy of Mr. Waheed M. Zuberi. This banner was on display at the main Clifton Road opposite Park Towers in late 2007. For our English readership, the banner reads:

“Miracle of Nature: Milk Producing Male Goat”

and then the contact information is given. At first I wanted to pass on this photo thinking it was too speculative, like a news item that appears on evening newspapers, but then we do see natural and man made ‘miracles’ commercialized in circuses, Zoos, melas etc. This could be another natural phenomena being commercialized or it could be a fake but I found the banner very interesting to read.

Here you go Tina, http://www.unassistedchildbirth.com/miscarticles/m ilkmen.html
    Scroll down to the end.
Internet is stuffed with articles on male lactation.
Someone should put pakistani goat on You tube. It is still a news not known to many.

There’s a video of this goat on Youtube. It’s real, although it was in Punjab at the time, I believe. It appears to express a range of true hermaphrodite features, including giving milk and functioning testes. I do not know if it can become pregnant, but the fact that it is lactating would appear to indicate that it can. An extreme rarity, but as Shahid said, not impossible.

Can anyone get us a link to the youtube video?

Man has nipples, nonfunctional but they are there. I have heard breast cancer in man. So in animals, quite possible to have functional nipples. Big deal? Not!

First of all, I assume its a hoax. Trying to make a fool out of fools.

Second, if it is not then a genetic mutation is not a “qudrat ka kirishma”, its “qudrat” out of whack.

Most offensive is the statement on the banner describing it as the handiwork of God (Subhan tairi qudrat). I am sure God has better things to do than work on milk producing Male Goats!

When I was a little boy many moons ago living in Lahore I also saw a Bakra which had same features. Nature has a way of expressing its power. How about a man who is a female organs also also or vice a versa there is no sex change before but one always follows with an operation these days.

Guess what in the olden times when science was not as it is today people lived with their birth defects.

This is too funny…maybe I am particularly amused because another Zuberi found this….
my dad has a way of finding the oddest advertisements in the world … and actually believing them.
Reminds me of the pregnant man who appeared on Oprah Winfrey’s show a few weeks ago (http://tinyurl.com/59c8ak). Did this Bakra also have a sex-change operation at some point?
