Following yesterday’s murderous attack on Islamabad, Karachi has been rocked today by a series of blasts (seven reported till now).
According to The News:
One person was killed and 50 others injured in a series of 6 blasts that ripped through different areas of the busiest city of country on Monday. Two explosions occurred here in Banaras area. One of the blasts happened in a pile of garbage while the other one at a footpath near Banaras chowk, injuring 16 people. They were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, sources said. Enraged people took the streets and started pelting stones at moving vehicles.
The third explosion ripped through a mini truck in North Nazimabad area of Shahra-e-Noor Jehan near Sohail mosque. Five persons were injured, police sources said. However, Chhipa sources said 8 persons were taken to hospital. There are reports of the fourth blast in Hyderi area near a children’s school. Police mobiles have reached the blasts’s sites while ambulances are shifting the injured to local hospitals. The fifth blast occurred here in a motor cycle in Qasba colony area, killing one person.
A policeman was injured in the sixth blast in a bicycle in Manghopir. Two blasts also occurred in Pak colony in which 7 persons are reported injured. Police has not come up with any statement confirming the above blasts. Police and Rangers have been put on high alert in the city following the series of blasts.
How long will these murderous attacks on innocent Pakistanis continue? There can be no excuse for them. No justifications. No bahana-baazi. These terrorist acts are calculated moves to purposely spread fear and terror. These are clearly a war on Pakistan. A war on Pakistanis. A war on human decency.
Yesterday, after Islamabad’s blast we had written about a friend who survived the ghastly and cowardly attack on innocent people and had written this in an email (to Owais):
Today my belief in Allah’s power and what we call qismat(fate) was re-enforced. One of the things I learned while in overseas (i.e. to stop when a traffic police man tells me to stop) literally saved my life.I was on the other side of the road trying to make a uturn when the suicide bomber hit the policemen in Melody chowk today. If I had not stopped because a traffic policeman signaled me to stop and tell me that I cant make a U-turn, I would literally have been less the 5 feet from the suicide bomber. Luckily I stopped and being on the other side of the double road it placed a distance of around 20 feet between my car and the bomber. Somehow I was lucky enough to only have minor cuts and bruises while some really sharp pieces of metal landed inside my car and completely missed me.
It was one of the most un-nerving experience of my life since Ojhri Camp and also one of the saddest. I would really hope such events would stop in our country and as I fail to see what they achieve except for killing many innocent.
Our friend was extra lucky but for how long will Pakistanis continue to pickup ‘laashe’ of their unlucky loved ones?
This madness, brutality and violence must stop NOW !

These killers and terrorists who are the enemies of Pakistan keep doing these murders in their attempt to damage our country. The government much take maximum measures to root out these killers.
We have to declare a WAR against all these challenges that our Nation is facing right now. I’m seriously considering giving up my career here in the west, go back and contribute by working for a law enforcement agency or another place where I can add value.
Growing up in Pakistan, I remember we were taught (in a cadet college) that giving your life for your country is the most scared thing you can do. Let
Your friend is more than lucky. However, surviving these dark days has rather become a big challenge for a common man, like you and me.
Why our government fails to trace their networks, despite the arrest of several of the suicide bombers, who were later released after murky deals with the militants.
It is our bad luck that suicide blast are occurring in Pakistan, ripping apart poor Pakistani to the pieces, while our rulers are nothing better to do except pulling each other legs on the idiot box.
One tragedy, one disaster again. Killing more than 15 persons in Islamabad. I do not have words to condemn this and acts like this are happening one after another in Pakistan.
If a “POLICE WALA” is killed in a blast, he is surely one of us, some one’s son, father, brother or husband.
Pakistan Government in its latest attempts has done one good thing by handing over the “counter terrorist” issue to the army and we believe that Pakistan Army is capable of taking to task these terrorists.
One thing is incomprehensible that when the government starts an operation why certain parties like ANP and Jaamat-i-Islami start agitating ?.
ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.
Pakistan is on the hook for a long time and its time now that the government of Pakistan should take serious note of these terrorist activities. You talk about terrorist activities and there comes a shriek from a corner “go musharaf go” . It means that till musharaf is not gone bombs will keep on blasting in our streets and innocent people will be getting killed. Just because “unfortunately” musharaf is clinging to the government, so let the killing and explosions go on.
NO. These terrorists where ever they are, no matter in what area of Pakistan, Sawat , Meran Shah or where ever, should be killed , no where in the world you hear of bomb blasts except Pakistan and every other day there is a news of a bomb blast in Pakistan.
I think we are being too lenient with these “JIHADIS”. Its time now that the Government and Army of Pakistan acts on a massive scale to put an end to this issue once for all.
We know that its not an easy task as these “jihadis” have scattered all over Pakistan and nothing escapes from them Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto or a police constable.
I urge the entire people of Pakistan to help identify the “MIDRSAS” where these snakes have been populated. The people of Pakistan should understand that if they do not join hands with the Government and Armed forces to eliminate these vultures we will keep losing our brothers, fathers, husbands, mothers and children.
ONE INNOCENT TRAGEDY MAKE THE COMING GENERATIONS TO SUFFER.
