I am delighted and for once appreciative of Mr. Zardari. I hope it works in practice it works as it is written on the paper. The current events indicate a different reality. Mr. Gates considers General Kayani still the most important person in Pakistan. During his recent visit to Washington, General Kayani acted as the leader of Pakistan delegation and overshadowed the civilan minister who was the official head of the delegation. What right does General Kayani has to negotiate with Hilary Clinton?

They say, with the 18th Amendment, they have restored the 1973 Constitution, but they could not touch the Second Amendment, which in fact is the Super Constitution, inserted by ZAB to appease the Mullah, which even the martial law could not touch. It is the amendment which has made the faith of all the citizens of Pakistan, who claimed to be Muslims and were treated as such as of right before May 1974, questionable in Pakistan and Pakistan alone, subject to submission of an affidavit to the government.

Great things can be accomplished in a pressure situation. At first Zardari was unwilling to restore the judiciary but now when people have started questioning Zardari’s eligibility as a president and there is a clear and present danger to his position, he has become more flexible and accommodating towards PML-N and the popular opinion. All is well that ends well and I hope it’s not too late.

@Eidee Man: credit should be given to PPP and particularly to Raza Rabbani for this work, but why you are giving the credit of those things which are not done by PPP, judiciary was not restored by PPP infact it does all it can to stop it, so be fair.

Another important thing is will PPP government be able to implement? For instance, will it reduce cabinet size to 11 percent?
