As of right now, time is 8:31 p.m CST and following are the first 4 out of 6 headlines on front page of Pakistan’s largest English daily.
(1) Lahore: Spate of attacks leaves 27 dead, 30 injured.
(2) Quetta: Two injured in grenade attack
(3) Peshawar: Huge blast strikes, several injured
(4) Kohat: Eleven killed in suicide attack
What has World come up to? What has happened to my dear Pakistan where I used to roam care free? I can also wirte a long ‘jazbaati’ post but words have lost meanings in these numbing times. The truth is that I am also out of words to express myself to any more superlatives of anguish and sorrow. The same sad story has been written and discussed several times at ATP pages in past 2 years. It is also a reason that it took me several hours to finally come around and write this post. Very naively I was hoping for all bad news to somehow go away so I don’t have to write this. How childish of me.
We want peace. I want peace.
tum apne aqeedoN ke nezay, har dil mein utaare jaate ho
ham log mohabbat waale hain, tum khanjar kiyooN lehraate ho
is shehr meiN naghme behnay do
is shehr meiN hum ko rehnay do
ham paalun-har haiN phooloN ke, hum khushboo ke rakh-waale haiN
tum kis ka lahoo peene aaye, hum pyar sikhaane waale haiN

I hear you Darweesh, they are surely panicked that’s why they are attacking civilians. I’m sure Army is doing their job but it need to be done more quickly and effectively, hope Army can attack all targets at once so extremists don’t have time to move to the safe place.
Thanks Shiv India and Pakistan both are fighting poverty evil, where anyone (read: Poor and Majboor) can be a suicide bomber for few thousand rupees, we need to create employment opportunities for destitute to win their hearts.
Thank you Shiv for your comment and wish.
@ DARWEESH bro
“Though overall situation seems to be very grim but the way these renegades are trying to terrorise Pakistanis show their nervousness. ”
I dont agree that they are nervous about anything. According to witnesses of yesterday’s attacks, these were very well trained and very calm. Read some eyewitness acounts on BBC site to get a better understanding of my point. Calmly smoking hashish before opening the bag and pulling out AK47’s .. and fire at some of the most secured sites in Lahore. Nothing nervous about that. More and more daring is what describes them.
Dont fall for whatever ‘experts’ say in the media. First, we were told that Hakeemulah was killed in fighting for power of TTP. Then he came to media to prove them wrong. We were told that fighting is rift between TTP leaders – proved wrong. They are more organized than ever and more lethal. They have supporters in many places in Pakistan. Nothing nervousness as I say.
“They seem to be losing ground as reaction from public is very harsh and sever ,above all brave .”
The reaction from the public is irrelevant here as it has no effects on those murderers. They are striking security agencies almost at will and we are talking of ten of thousands hardcore fighters here .. imagine their potential for a second.
What makes you say that the law agencies are better now? How are they better when in fact the situation has worsened in Punjab?
With you all(my Pakisnati brothers & sisters) in this time of sorrow. This website is one of the most honest and rational ones I have seen so far. And this website had condemned the Mumbai attacks too. We need to face together this menace of intolerance and violence. May God give you the energy to bounce back . Keep your chin up! – Shiv from Bhopal(India)
Place seems more and more like Iraq was in 2007. Bombings every day. Another 11 are dead in Peshawar today.
