As of right now, time is 8:31 p.m CST and following are the first 4 out of 6 headlines on front page of Pakistan’s largest English daily.

(1) Lahore: Spate of attacks leaves 27 dead, 30 injured.
(2) Quetta: Two injured in grenade attack
(3) Peshawar: Huge blast strikes, several injured
(4) Kohat: Eleven killed in suicide attack

What has World come up to? What has happened to my dear Pakistan where I used to roam care free? I can also wirte a long ‘jazbaati’ post but words have lost meanings in these numbing times. The truth is that I am also out of words to express myself to any more superlatives of anguish and sorrow. The same sad story has been written and discussed several times at ATP pages in past 2 years. It is also a reason that it took me several hours to finally come around and write this post. Very naively I was hoping for all bad news to somehow go away so I don’t have to write this. How childish of me.

We want peace. I want peace.

tum apne aqeedoN ke nezay, har dil mein utaare jaate ho
ham log mohabbat waale hain, tum khanjar kiyooN lehraate ho
is shehr meiN naghme behnay do
is shehr meiN hum ko rehnay do
ham paalun-har haiN phooloN ke, hum khushboo ke rakh-waale haiN
tum kis ka lahoo peene aaye, hum pyar sikhaane waale haiN

    Owais,

    Thnx for posting the photo…We need more and bigger protests against Talibans and to support the people who are fighting them….It is time that we Pakistanis start calling a spade a spade…and accept that these Talibans, perhaps once the freedom fighters of Afghanistan, have rotten into a bunch of ruthless terrorists…

    There is no good Taliban. They are all terrorists, illiterate and do not know true meaning of Islam. I do not need these hateful mullahs to tell me how to live my life. Anybody who try to defend them should be condemned and beat up openly in the streets. May be it’s time for the Pakistanis to show openly how they despise these people. Oh God, what happened to my peaceful country. Is it going to survive or am I witnessing the start of the end. We can all blame to our leaders but do not forget, we chose them. Are there any local organisations who can help increase public awareness? All I see is very muted response from the public.

    @Murtaza S

    BTW, how do you know all about those muslim Bollywood actors and what they are up to?

    Are you, na-aaoo-zubillah, reading those sinful gossip magazines or even worse, us-tagh-firrullah, watching those haram indian movies?!!!

    @Murtaza S

    Let me answer your quetions too… YES! YES! YES!…we want Talibans out of our country…. And if we can parallel the religous devotion of indian muslims (not the Bollywood ones) then it will be a Good Start!!!

  5. Friends,

    There is an old saying in Kashmiri “Anim soi, wavim soi, lajim soi panasiy” i.e. “I got nettle, I sowed nettle and the nettle finally stung me only”…
    The terror schools that ISI cultivated to dig graves for neighbors have overgrown their mandate and their charter… and are coming to bite the hand that fed them. Alas! the russelviper is on the loose now…

    The sane voices in Pakistan didnt speak when Pakistan establishment was/is sending terrorists across LOC… the sane voices are now muffled even more coz there sonsofsoil are now demanding a share of pie at home…Alas! the sane voices may soon die altogether if they dont stand up even now…

    Unless pple like @Murtaza_S stop taking upon themselves the mission of taking to task everyone else – who doesnt see the world/religion from their point of view – the war of Pakistan with Pakistan won’t end.

    What should give the sane minds sleepless nights in Pakistan is – that this is no external war on Pakistan. Pakistan has attacked Pakistan – and that disastrous for everyone. Not just Pakistan – but even India. Thats why this one sane voice in India is truly worried…

    A Soul in Exile…A victim of terror Pakistan exported to Kashmir… yet a well-wisher…
