Adil Najam

This recent photograph from The News shows Abdul Sattar Edhi, probably the greatest living Pakistani, perched on a wheel-chair, collecting donations on a Karachi roadside to buy 1000 new ambulances. The picture, however, is not just a commentary on the humanity of Mr. Edhi but on the givingness of ordinary Pakistanis. A generosity of spirit that no one under-appreciates as much as Pakistanis themselves.

  1. Abdul Sattar Edhi is surely the person which I like the most and I think that if rich people of our country may think like him on the well-being of the masses then there will be no more poverty, deprivation and disruption in our country.

Indeed Pakistan needs humans like him !

People understanding the true meaning of “being a human”
with the rights and duties implied in this constellation of merely words, but when shown towards others is the true humanity, the true being a Pakistani.

It is humans like Abdul Sattar Edhi that make me convinced that even bound to a wheel-chair a human can do much more than some people living in casttles of Marble.

May he get tremendous Ayaar for his doings. Ameen

What a nice post. Such few words and such a big message. The giving people are all of us and we need to recognize our own sense of self-worth.
