Today is 9/11. For Pakistanis 9/11 has always been a sad date. On this date in 1948, barely a year after the nation’s birth, its founding leader, Mohammad Ali Jinnah, died.

Today I want to post three historical artifacts – each worthy of your attention, and each worthy of some thinking through. The first, is a re-post at ATP: a video of a newsreel from Mr. Jinnah’s death. The second is new to ATP: an obituary of Mr. Jinnah published in the Indian newspaper The Hindu. The third is a set of photographs of Mr. Jinnah that have been circulating over email and that are very worth sharing with our readers.

Neelofer Abbasi is a renowned artist of Radio Pakistan and Pakistan Television. PTV followers remember her most from Haseena Moin‘s Drama serial ‘Shahzori’ and Radio Pakistan followers will always remember her for the daily morning show ‘subuh-e-nau’ which she anchored for several years. Her contribution to Pakistan’s radio and TV history is immense.

Few days ago we presented this Quiz as a curtain raiser to her career achievements and as an archive of Pakistan’s TV/Radio history. Below, we will provide answers to the Quiz as well as several other never-seen-before photos of Neelofer Abbasi. We are grateful that she generously shared her memories in the form of following collection with us.

This video has recently been making the rounds on Pakistani Facebook pages and I have received a number of emails with its link. Each time I have seen it, I have been amazed at the skill, control and dexterity of this young man.

The video is indeed remarkable, but was also mysterious because (on the versions I was seeing) it did not say who it was or where or exactly what the connection to Pakistan was.
