It has been a while since we did an ATP Photo Quiz, and given the popularity of the last two (here and here) it is about time that we did one.

Can you recognize who these two people are? When and where might this have been taken? And, what do you think are they doing?

    Folks, just to remind you again that if you do not see your response here, it is because comments on thsi Picture Quiz are being held back until we have a few, in order to give more people a chance to guess who these people in teh picture are.

    Folks, this one was obviously more difficult than the previous ATP Photo Quizes. Well done, Naveed. You have it right, it is Raana Liaquat Ali Khan and Walt Disney, during the Liaquat Ali Khan visit to US in May 1950. We will have a full post on the significnace of that visit to US-Pakistan relations (and additional photographs) soon. (By the way, I am not sure what they are doing but Begum Liaquat Ali Khan seems to be explaining something to Mr. Disney… maybe, how to operate one of those chaaliya purses?

    Sabiha Khanum (AM)!!! Raj Kapoor (iFaqeer)!!!… not really! But now that I look at the picture I can see why you might have thought so.

    I don’t know but for some reason the gentleman looks like JRD Tata. I would not have even ventured a guess on the lady though.

    Given the background, I was sure it wasn’t RK, and was quite sure it was one of the Hollywood-types of that era. I guess I blanked on what Walt D looked like.

    The man is President Troman of USA and the woman is Pakistan’s First Lady Begum Rana Liauqat Ali Khan
