Yes, and Khawaja Asif is the best judge of what eunuchs sound like since he has been living around so many for the past several years. Apparently the definitive Eunuch sound was exuded by Nawaz and his chota-bhai-pilpila-danda-kha-kar-gir-para when Salahuddin Satti came to get them. “Sirji Allah da wasta, ghaltee ho gaee, Abba jee nay kiya see jhaaz noun na utran daie’n… sirji ghaltee ho gaee”. Someone should do a remix, featuring Fi’ty cent.

Beej ji, Aadab arz. One looks for legitimacy from those who are legitimate themselves. The khakis have always had a bigger, more genuine constituency amongst the people of Pakistan than most politicians (exception would probably be Bhutto/Zia, but at the time Bhutto was removed, he was unpopular due to his out-of-control ego, which manifested itself as blunders like the FSF, to name one).

The current peaceful and willful transition to civil rule sets a good precedent for the long term. It shows that the khakis can have the maturity to work with politicians and other organs of state, not based on the premise of being all-powerful, but because they feel the time for unilateralism is over. Good stuff. If this works out and the new setup demonstrates how the NSC can be used to provide all the power players in Pakistan a proper say in the running of the country, future Khaki action will become unnecessary.

Mark my words. Musharraf’s tenure marks the very last time a serving Army Gen. will hold the post of President of Pakistan. He has maneuvered things very skilfully at some future point in time, perhaps his intentions and brilliant execution will be recognized by more people.

    Mistri sahib,

Waah, waah - kya jabardasht post hai! Maza aa gaya!

I agree that the conduct of the past politicians contributed a lot to “legitimizing” the rule of the khakis - not that the khakis ever felt that they needed it.
