It’s a public event and it is the job of police to provide security. All I see is policemen doing their job.
I don’f fully understand why the earlier commentors are upset at this? Today when the Boston Red Sox played Cleveland Indians in Boston, more than 100 policemen were deployed to prevent hooliganism and threat of terrorism at major public events. At tomorrow’s game there will be more than 1000. Do we not need security at public places - esp when there are foreign citizens involved?
This is really ridiculous!
This is so obnoxiously ridiculous. Going by the reputation of the Pakistani police, it would be much better if they stay in their barracks! The picture is a comical description of a serious disorder that Pakistan is suffering from. Why in the world will you have these games/events going on if security is such a huge issue? I heard that all political rallies have been banned from today onwards. Is this yet another exemplary step taken by Musharraf and his chamchas to show the world that democracy after all is just a living room ideal that has no real relevance to the Pakistani nation?
wow what if a suicide bomber blows the police away….
coming to think of it, Pakistan might be a safer place WITHOUT the police……

these policemen are not supposed to assist PCB to conduct this match, they have got some other work to do.
