This picture depicts the simple pleasures of youth, but also a sad reality.
Here are children playing cricket in a class room of an abandoned school, in Sector 4 of Korangi, Karachi. This photo appeared in the daily Dawn of September 14, 2008.
The sad part is that this school was completed in April 2003 but has not seen regular classes yet. Newspaper reports say that that drug addicts have also made home in empty class rooms. May the drug addicts stay away from the kids!

It is dangerous sign for us.
But, schools shouldn’t be made a business. I guess if they are made Beacon House or whatever only children of a certain class would be able to go there.
Children whom you see in the picture won’t still be able to attend classes.
This is the fate of a number government schools in the country. I personally know about some school building in derelict state because of the apathetic attitude of the concerned people. Government thinks that the job finishes at making the building, whereas it actually starts from there.
If these buildings are given to private school like Beacon House and City School they will make a lot of money. I would like to share the readers of ATP about a government school near PNS shifa This school was in very bad condition. It was taken over by a private chain. They carried out simple renovation and now it has been transformed into a thriving business.
