Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has recently released the university rankings of Pakistan. The rankings are generating so much interest that I am receiving four to five emails daily with people forwarding me the same link to HEC’s ranking web page. (Scroll down to see rankings and details).
I am kind of disappointed with my alma-mater, NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi, ranked at number 10 out of the 13 Engineering Universities of Pakistan. The photo to the right-below shows few views of NED University.
I genuinely and of course with a little bias think that NED university should have been ranked among the top 3. When I make such claim; I do it on the basis of sheer engineering talent I’ve personally seen at NED. But rankings do not take into account the student talent. They look at finances, faculty, number of students etc. My university mates as well as the university officials have already started the discussion on how to improve the rankings next year. This discussion is going on at many NED online alumni groups. I am sure similar discussions are going on within other university alumni too. This I think, is a positive sign of publishing a list like this as it does create competition.

Agar pakisataniyo (esp political ppl) nay ab apnay aap ko nahin sambala to phir bohot dair ho jayay gi.you can say pakistan is on the verge of destruction. pakistan ko development ki bohot zaroorat hai infact change honay ki bohot zaroorat hai. aur agar aisay hi talent disheart ho kay bahar chalta raha to believe me aik din pakistan khatam ho jayay ga. yahan par ab bi logon kay khayalaat nahin badlay(esp politicians ). yeh log infiradi soch rakhtay hai, aur ijtimaai soch ko nazar andaz kertay hai. laikin yah beywakoof log yeh nahin dekhtay kay is may ultimately un ka b equally nuksaan ho raha hai, kyun kay society , country , community logon say banta hai agar aap us may dil say contribute nahin kartay to ultimately aap country kharab ker rahay hai, aur chunkay aap aur aap ki family b country ka hissa ha to lihaza aap aur aap ki family ko b nuksaan hoga.aur agar yah politicians sochtay hai kay bahar settle ho jay angay to yeh unki soch hai they would not be happy kyun kay apni mitti apni hoti hai.
aik example dena chahunga “AGAR BUS A DRIVER SO RAHA HO TO ACCIDENT HO JATA HAI. AUR ACCIDENT HONAY KAY BAAD LOGO TO MARTAY HI HAI LAIKIN DRIVER AUR CONDUCTOR BI UN MAY SHAMIL HOTA HAI”. bohot recent, real world examples bi hai Komon aur unkay leaders kay sath jo hua wo aap kay samnay hai. baki aap log samaj daar hai samaj sakhtay hai.
