The single most important issue raised in the affidavit filed by the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Mr Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was that the president did not have a reference from the Prime Minister when they met in the GHQ on March 9, 2007. The president has kept insisting that he merely performed his constitutional duty to forward the reference submitted by the Prime Minister to the SJC.

This statement by the president was challenged (by implication) in the affidavit filed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP). CJP’s affidavit stated that the president only had hand-written notes during their meeting on March 9th i.e. no reference had been submitted by the PM till then. This is a very serious allegation against the president as it implies that the presidential reference was prepared after the CJP refused to resign on March 9. It was expected that the PM would file an affidavit (in support of Musharraf’s position) clarifying that he (Shaukat Aziz) had submitted a reference to the president prior to the president/CJP meeting on march 9 2007.

Interestingly, Sharifuddin Pirzada stated this week in the Supreme Court hearings that if the reference was not forwarded by the PM then it should be nullified.

The affidavits filed by DG MI, DG IB and President’s Chief of Staff have circumvented the issue above. The most important player in this crisis, after the president and CJP, the Prime Minister has preferred to stay mum. All of these are ominous signs for the president, general Pervez Musharraf. In a meeting with his allies in the parliament he complained that he felt alone in the current crisis. His isolation seems to be growing.

Tanam as bay dilli baycharah shud, baychara tar bada

My heart is lost in love, may this state ever grow
I have gotten helpless in this state, may this helplessness ever grow

Shaukat aziz is not Prime Minister material, he has no leadership skills and all he can do is take care of the interests of a bank. His statements are hilarious and all he does is playing number games with claims of increased GDP and reserves without acknowledging the fact that poor is getting poorer and common man is crushed by sky rocketting prices. He will be the first one to leave pakistan as soon as his stint of prime ministership is over. He has no longterm interest in pakistan.

Round 1 to CJP. To avoid embarrassing Mush the court has not announced a formal decision but they’ve satrted listening to the petitiion by CJP now. So in effect the court has decided that the CJP’s petition is maintainable.

I will term Shoukat Aziz as ‘Non Functional’ Prime Minister of Pakistan. As we all know he is a dummy PM coz he has no EXECUTIVE POWERS. Politically he is also not even recognised as a Politician even by his Q leage colleagues. Since he has no power to take decisions which is why he is out of main political scene. I believe he cant even say a single word without the permission of his ‘God Father’ Musharraf. At least for all Pakistani’s he is a perfect example of ‘most obedient servant’ Lol.

As far as the affidavits filed by govt are concerned the report of Ansar Abbassi in todays the NEWS clearly explains that the allegations made in those affidavits are not based on facts and even CJ had ‘laughed’ on those allegations. i have the opinion that govt has made his case even more poor after filing such fake affidavits.

    Thanks NAZIR for these links

I guess the case is very simple

A group of thugs who have plundered trillions in their whole career want justice against a man who probably has (if he has ) some few hundred rupee mistake. Considering what our establishment does with public money even if the CJP has done something its nothing to what they do.

Thats the whole equation is. Tese ISI,MI & IB officers might well have wasted billions which are unaccounted for , not considering what our ministers do but one has is suddenly become their bone of contention because he apparently asked for a Mercedes car or something for which they don’t have any proof too.

Great!!. This reminds me of the little lamb & the lion story where the lion just wanted to eat up the lamb on any pretext so the lion narrates a longgg story of some unknown, stupid arguments & attack the lamb.

    Thats about it all.
