Owais Mughal

Following photo is taken from MB‘s blog here.

The image is a cloth banner wishing ‘Happy Indpendence Day to all Pakistanis except those who habitually change their political loyalties (lotay) and those who have regularly plundered national wealth (luteray).’ As you can see the banner message is issued by the PML(N) leader Shahbaz Sharif‘s secretariat. I guess Pakistani streets are always a great place to find political commentary!

I disagree with the notion that lotas and luteras are not welcome to celebrate independence day. If a free society is what all of us yearn for then all free men (including those free to change loyaties and free to rob the country) should be free to celebrate this day. In a civilized society even criminals (who may even be behind bars) have rights :)

true……..actuallly they used it inorder to let us know that they are not going to celebrate 14….indirectly letting the world know what they are all bout…..

  4. JASIM says:

They all are finding way’s to attract people by posting such banner’s ,as elections are hitting in december !

  5. Wajahat says:

Shabaz Sharif’s office not giving independence day’s mubarak- baad to Mrs. 10% is understandable, but, as per the banner, their mubarak baad is not for Shabaz’s own older brother either. Thats sad. What has the world come down to. Bahi bahi ka khoon safeed ho giya hai.
