This picture is from Faisal Mosque, Islamabad and almost every newspaper in Pakistan published it on Saturday, just a day before Eid-Ul-Fitr. This poor guy had to come to a mosque because he can no longer sell his kidney in the “Kidney Bazaars”. After the arrest of the Kidney Gang of Lahore, our government had to bring a new law, thanks to strict orders from Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhary. Just last week, Shaukat Aziz gave us this good news during an interview on ARY Digital that poverty have been reduced from 36% to 24% (I always wonder who comes up with these figures anyways?). He proudly said that thanks to the wonderful work by our government, we have eliminated poverty significantly. Perhaps, he meant the poor.
Here in Pakistan, everyday we hear the tall claims of progress and prosperity from the ruling elite and on the other hand we find a totally different picture on ground. I do not need to say more. They have become totally disconnected from the reality that they have no idea whatsoever about the problems of ordinary people of Pakistan (Yes yes, due to security reasons we don’t feel safe in Awaam). Or may be, people complain all the time for no reason and I am just being cynical. May be Mr. Pervez Elahi is absolutely right when he says everyday in television commercials, paid by our tax money, “Har Qadam Khushhaali Ki Janab”
Drug addicts are often HIV positive, making it even more unsafe to take either their blood or their kidneys. Would be surprised if this really happened very often. Kidneys have to harvested in a very sterile, specific environment. Blood collection now is another matter, and a danger is posed to people through diseased blood.

Its ironic to note that the leadership of Pakistan had never been far from reality then now. If you ask a common man about a list of issues of his concern none of his will match the ones our government, opposition & similar people in power.
At one hand tamaatar are now 140/kb & while the poor plunge more into poverty, wardi (once LFO), deal, and PMship seems to be their matter of concern.

As for leadership, it appears that the confusion is more in someone’s mind than anywhere else…

— Declining USSR offer to visit and accepting US offer …. is just another fallacy that has been proved false after the foreign ministry’s record became public. The US offer was received first and the USSR never confimed dates of visit even after repeated efforts of our foreign ministry
— the paralyzed leader was never in the president house. In fact there was no president house or president at that time. he was in fact a governor general who had to resign because of his paralysis
— i did not know that ‘proclaiming’ oneself as a reformer was a sin. Besides whatever one may proclaim, it is the people who are better judge
