Owais Mughal

This photo is courtesy of Muhammad Ali Musa. It shows Abdulahad the qulfi seller on a Quetta Street. Eventhough Abdulahad doesn’t look very happy, I chose this photo because of its blue and orange color splendour. The photo is dated: April 11, 2008.

  1. Razi says:

Reminds of me of my childhood…specially the summer vacations. Most of my school days it was prohibited for me to have Qulfi from such vendors however, once I entered my teens…..the taste automatically developed. I specially recall days when we would be playing a cricket match and a Qulfiwala would come by.

Someone had commented about the “bottlain dasteyab haen..” sign….if you look closely, it is written on the walls of the shops behind the Qulfiwala and not on his ‘Thela’.

Anyone for Khoae wali Qulfi? :)

the simple guy does not even probably know as to what is written on his cart neither do his customers care, all he knows is that he is making a sale because of whatever is written.Hope he gets to see better days and that his next picture will be a happy one.

I used to love Qulfi when I was young. The Qulfi wala is not seen these days.
