As of right now, time is 8:31 p.m CST and following are the first 4 out of 6 headlines on front page of Pakistan’s largest English daily.

(1) Lahore: Spate of attacks leaves 27 dead, 30 injured.
(2) Quetta: Two injured in grenade attack
(3) Peshawar: Huge blast strikes, several injured
(4) Kohat: Eleven killed in suicide attack

What has World come up to? What has happened to my dear Pakistan where I used to roam care free? I can also wirte a long ‘jazbaati’ post but words have lost meanings in these numbing times. The truth is that I am also out of words to express myself to any more superlatives of anguish and sorrow. The same sad story has been written and discussed several times at ATP pages in past 2 years. It is also a reason that it took me several hours to finally come around and write this post. Very naively I was hoping for all bad news to somehow go away so I don’t have to write this. How childish of me.

We want peace. I want peace.

tum apne aqeedoN ke nezay, har dil mein utaare jaate ho
ham log mohabbat waale hain, tum khanjar kiyooN lehraate ho
is shehr meiN naghme behnay do
is shehr meiN hum ko rehnay do
ham paalun-har haiN phooloN ke, hum khushboo ke rakh-waale haiN
tum kis ka lahoo peene aaye, hum pyar sikhaane waale haiN

@shakeel, i did not say the taliban is perfect. but in our pakistan would we rather have taliban who at least try to glorify islam even though they are strict? or would you like to have muslims like that from india? dancing in silly films, mingling and joining jains hindus zoroastrans and all other kafirs in all aspects of life? talking on television together about silly things like somebody’s dresses in mumbai? even still the indian muslims don’t see pakistan as pak, they rather stay in india, so much for ummah? you want us also to be like that with no pride in religion and country?

have you all forgotten what PAK means???

is there purity or discipline in india, with this kind of secularism that you want to also approve for pakistan, and kick out talibs? is this what you want?

“saudis have nothing to do with this”

It was the Saudis who financed the religious schools that created the Talibs. Not to mention they also spread the extremist Wahabist ideology that is destroying the nation.

“your statement is like haraam. should you criticize makkah and the prophet (PBUH) also? so please don’t.”

Criticizing the Saudis is haram? You must be kidding me. Just because you happen to control makkah does not make you a better person.

“is ther proof that it is pakistanis behind all this? why pakistanis would attack their own country (execpt military operations forced by usa)?”

No most don’t speak punjabi, the probably speak pashto and barely consider themselves pakistani

“taliban always were quite peaceful until usa bombed and bombed in 2001 for some made-up reasons.”

a rabid dog is always peaceful until you stop feeding it…

“so don’t just jump to them. they are simple people who can not plan such things”

can’t plan what? they openly admit to these bombings all the time

When someone declares an open war, how must a nation react? How should they defenddesperation or challenge. themselves? Have we forgotten the lessons from war with India? Why should we feel different now when we are being attacked from inside rather than from outside.

By attacking various institutions of Pakistani state (in attacks of more symbolic value than otherwise), Taliban has thrown an open challenge to our nation. But is it really so? Don’t mistake it because it seems more a sign of desperation on their behalf because they clearly are surrounded and trapped. read more at

Well, you think the country from “south of the border” is causing havoc in Pakistan ? Well, if so, then remember the times Pakistan sent terrorists TO “south of the border” ? Even in these days Pakistan is pushing terrorists down south across the LOC.

Don’t pretend that Pakistan is just an innocent bystander in the geopolitics of the region. If the Pakistani establishment had not resorted to terrorism in the first place this day would not have come. Now these terrorists bite the hand that fed them.

I agree with ‘Desi Cheetah’, we are not saying that the land is bad but the people ruling that land these days are, not ever one that’s in Makah and Medina are true Muslims, yeas i agree that there are other countries involved in it as well but the thing is now who ever is involved army should finish what it started and sooner the better
