Owais Mughal and Adil Najam

Today was the 12th of Rabi-ul-Awal in Pakistan and Eid Milad-un-Nabi – marking the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) – was celebrated across the country. ATP offers Eid Milad-un-Nabi greetings to all its Muslim readers. As pictorial special, we share these photographs from Dawn and APP of the different ways in which Pakistan prepared for the celebrations today.

In the name of god, the most merciful and the most gracious

Celebrations, the creativity, let them be heard
Sometime, Somehow, we WILL catch up with the world.

While there is a difference of opinion on Prohept Muhammad’s exact date of birth there is less so on his date of passing away (wafat), which is 12th Rabi ul awwal. I recall my grand mother used to call this day “bara wafat”.

I believe earlier scholars agreed to the same date for both his birth and death for a good reason.

    My dear Durrani,
There is nothing wrong in wearing costumes and getups of other non subcontinental culture, I mean Arabian in style .
The showing off of Dul Dul (Horse of Hazrat HussainPBHU ) in Moharram and Al Kaswa in Rabi Ul awal (Female camel of Rasool Allah SAW) is the part of the story or festivity, as we know Zarooreeyat always attached to the Juzeeyat that completes the story and elaborates the event, which is planned or executed with painstaking attention to numerous parts or details.

    good luck

Don’t be too harsh. There is something cute about this. Like the red heart with “Muhammad PBUH” written in it, very much like a Valentine card! and the decorations very much like christmas decorations. Same idea.

  5. Ali says:

    Assalamo aleykum

Eid Milad-un-Nabi SAW Mubarak to everyone.

Becuase the love of Prophet Mohammad SAWW is missing, we Muslims are living in misery.
