What do you think happened to these trees? And do you know where in Pakistan this happened? (Hint: No, it was not an Umreekan or Sahooni sazish!)

I suspect some of you have seen these pictures already and know. But even if some do, maybe others would also be interested in finding out.  Wanna guess?

Its spider web, and the picture is taken after the flood. I suppose all the spiders got on the trees in the area, plus I saw this picture yesterday in Yahoo :).

    Could be a Fungus

The explanation (may be wrong) I could come up with is:
Flooding caused widespread puddles of stagnant water in low lying areas. This led to a plethora of mosquito in numbers never before seen. Spiders get plenty of food in form of mosquitos hiding in trees in daytime, and so multiplying at exceptional rate. Lot of mosquitos means lot of food for for lot of spiders, hence lot of webs in the trees. Let the nature take its toll and I think it is not as bad as it appears to be, as long as it happens to stay within certain limits till the ecosystem comes in equillibrium.

Spiders in Sindh.. speculated to be a result of extreme flooding last year where the spiders took refuge in trees to escape the water..
