Darwaish

I was watching the dramatic developments regarding Chief Justice of Pakistan’s case on GEO news today and wondering how much more we have to see after seeing police misbehaving with Chief Justice and his family.

Little did I know what was in store for me. During Kamran Khan’s show, Ansaar Abassi - investigative editor of The News, Islamabad - brought viewers attention to a shocking incident which happened during a live Voice of America ( VOA ) radio show interview (Round Table) yesterday (Listen by clicking audio symbol below)

Not surprisingly, it involves our Law Minister, Mr. Wasi Zafar. We have often read various reports about public displays of misbehaviors by Federal Minister for Law Wasi Zafar. But this is quite unbelievable.

Listen to the abusive language after the 34th minutes in particular. But also listen to the tone of the discussion of the entire interview in general. This, then, is our Federal Law Minister in action. Its worth hearing.

The Federal Minister said all this in response to a story by the investigative editor The News in which he wrote about the Law Minister’s “long arm of law.” Apparently he doesn’t know the difference between long arm and giving “a big hand.”

Listen to the clip and judge for yourself. I am just speechless!

ADDED 14 March: Here is the video clip of the report on this incident on GEO.

(Report on this in The News).

I’ll put a big arm in your family in street lingo means putting a hand in their ar**. It’s a nude swear.

The editor reacted in a very dignified manner given what the state minister was hurling at his family.

This Guy doesn’t seems to have enough education even for a gatekeeper job (becaue you need atleast some manners to talk to people) and he is The Law Minister!!!! What else we need to see and hear.

Thanks for posting the  video of the GEO program. So I just re-heard the full VOA interview, read the News report and also saw teh GEO report. Here is my assessment:

    1. This guy is certainly not fit to be a Minister, or anything else. Those who wonder why we have a bad image, here is why.

    2. But the News reporter may also have over-reacted. Wasi Zafar’s tone is obnoxious, but he was certainly not being abusive to the journalist in a classical sense.

it is shameful to see that people of Mr.Wasee Zafar’s character and caliber are responsible for upholding the law in our country. He sounded like a hoodlum from “indroon lahore”.
    God save Pakistan.

I think we are all being very rude to the charming and enlightened Minister Wasi Zafar. The poor man clearly suffers from a psychological disorder and must have had a disturbing childhood. We need to treat him like a patient and submit him to the best mental hospital with his phone lines cut off and post police outside so no one can meet him.
