The notion that one can only by a Pakistani by living in Pakistan is a little absurd. Not everyone who lives in Pakistan ‘serves’ Pakistan, and not everyone who leaves it ‘deserts’ it. Many who live in Pakistan have actually deserted its ideals and many who live elsewhere still serve it in other ways.

But these are individual matters and I am glad Prof. Najam has not taken the bait by trying to respond.

A question for Adil Najam is that you love Pakistan so much and doing a great job to present it, how come you decided to settle down in US?
How come you are not living in Pakistan?
I am your old UET fellow and I live in the same town of Framingham Mass.
