Owais Mughal
This photograph is from a pots and pans vendor in Jodia Bazar Karachi.
Jodia Bazar is a whole sale market where one can buy anything imaginable under the sky. I however, could never imagine that a consumer today has so much choice of sizes available while selecting a ‘pateeli’ (pot). I guess, all the better for food-lovers like us.
Looking at this photo a couplet comes to my mind which goes like this:
katoray pe katora;
beta baap se bhi gora

owais i m not sure but the masala is soo good that every year we get some more from karachi one way or the other…. Actually i know the shop too, its near civil hospital on the back side where the really congested roads/galis are … but the masala is definitely worth the try and don’t forget to ask for tips from dukaan wala for the right way to prepare the ultimate biryani!
from the ultimate biryani fan!
what an interesting post!
I like the name Changa Biryani masala :) Next time I am in the area, I’ll look for it. Turab, does the name changa rhymes with ‘Changa Manga’ forest OR is it like the urdu word ‘bhala changa’?
I think there is Changa Briyani Masala available in the same vicinity … the best biryani masala IMO… something to cook in those pateelis
Nice title. Made me think of a building. Actually, looking at pic it might make a nice building design too !
