I was watching the dramatic developments regarding Chief Justice of Pakistan’s case on GEO news today and wondering how much more we have to see after seeing police misbehaving with Chief Justice and his family.
Little did I know what was in store for me. During Kamran Khan’s show, Ansaar Abassi – investigative editor of The News, Islamabad – brought viewers attention to a shocking incident which happened during a live Voice of America ( VOA ) radio show interview (Round Table) yesterday (Listen by clicking audio symbol below)

Not surprisingly, it involves our Law Minister, Mr. Wasi Zafar. We have often read various reports about public displays of misbehaviors by Federal Minister for Law Wasi Zafar. But this is quite unbelievable.
Listen to the abusive language after the 34th minutes in particular. But also listen to the tone of the discussion of the entire interview in general. This, then, is our Federal Law Minister in action. Its worth hearing.
The Federal Minister said all this in response to a story by the investigative editor The News in which he wrote about the Law Minister’s “long arm of law.” Apparently he doesn’t know the difference between long arm and giving “a big hand.”

One often wonders regarding who runs these Urdu services of BBC and VOA. Are these ladies and gentlemen of Pakistani origin. Certainly they are not English or Americans of European origins.
Its a mockery of the notion that graduate members of the assembly would be well articulated and decent in their language.
Wasi Zafar is a turn coat and has various vested interests to beat the drum of General Musharaf. It was his brother serving in ISI on a very senior post, who brought him into the ruling camp.
He has grabed expensive government land in various cities through litigation. Most of those lands were left by the hindus during partition.
Unfortunately, the custodian of law(Wasi) are the violaters of law and custodian of constitution(Mushi)are the violaters of constitution.
Thanks God the real face of cosmetician is being exposed to the general public.
Let us pay our gratitute to the lawyers and media community who have proved that civil society in Pakistan is not dead yet.

Muhammad: this article about long arm of law came out many months ago. This should be enough time for even an ass like Wasi to figure it out. After all he is a lawyer and also able to teach English to VOA.
Well Wasi Zafar is really not the one to blame. It is for sure that he is not a cool minded person. He misinterpretted a news report and thought that ‘Long Arm of the Law'(Qanoon kay lambay haath) used by Ansar Abbasi , really meant ‘Big Arm into ……. ‘ . So lets not lash out at him for doing it.
In this case, i find him absolutely innocent.
He does what he believes and he said it. At least he is not a liar.
However, shame multiplied by a million on Mr. Shaukat Aziz and Mr. Parvez Musharraf who are both educated and decent persons but basically they are two faced people and not strong enough to face the fact that their rule today is based on a lie.
And shame multiplied by a trillion on them not to remove the minister even after all the fuss created in the media.
But again , if they are shameful enough , they wouldnt have had him in the first place.
The point is – our rulers are shameless and history will stare this fact in their face for many ages to come.
