As of right now, time is 8:31 p.m CST and following are the first 4 out of 6 headlines on front page of Pakistan’s largest English daily.
(1) Lahore: Spate of attacks leaves 27 dead, 30 injured.
(2) Quetta: Two injured in grenade attack
(3) Peshawar: Huge blast strikes, several injured
(4) Kohat: Eleven killed in suicide attack
What has World come up to? What has happened to my dear Pakistan where I used to roam care free? I can also wirte a long ‘jazbaati’ post but words have lost meanings in these numbing times. The truth is that I am also out of words to express myself to any more superlatives of anguish and sorrow. The same sad story has been written and discussed several times at ATP pages in past 2 years. It is also a reason that it took me several hours to finally come around and write this post. Very naively I was hoping for all bad news to somehow go away so I don’t have to write this. How childish of me.
We want peace. I want peace.
tum apne aqeedoN ke nezay, har dil mein utaare jaate ho
ham log mohabbat waale hain, tum khanjar kiyooN lehraate ho
is shehr meiN naghme behnay do
is shehr meiN hum ko rehnay do
ham paalun-har haiN phooloN ke, hum khushboo ke rakh-waale haiN
tum kis ka lahoo peene aaye, hum pyar sikhaane waale haiN

@Murtza S,
People like you are part of the problem. The Saudis have been part of the problem b/c they send their petrodollars to fund these radicals. And please spare me “peaceful taliban” nonsense…I’m sure they were all darzis and dakias until 2001…
To: Murtuza S
When Tina said Saudization, she meant the radicals of that Land not the Land itself. In the land of Prophet PBUH, crimes were commited even when He was alive. This is why He was sent as a Guide. So there is nothing wrong in talking about Saudi Arabia and their radical minds.
“this problem is all south asian problem. who all speaks punjabi, just pakistanis? is ther proof that it is pakistanis behind all this?”
Oh my God .. there are still people asking for proofs if the attackers are Pakistanis?? I wish along with terrorists, people like you could be killed too by the Army. But it wont because the Army needs people like you – brainwashed and blinded. It is because of you that the country cant develop into a modern and advanced country that it so can achieve. The facts are all here, but you still ask if the terrorists are Pakistanis. Why dont accept the reality just FOR ONCE! Pak Army, Pak Gov, Pak Police are not saying that these are not Pakistanis so why should the media? Well of course, there are always people like you in mentioned institutions so sometimes you hear that but mostly, from saner voices, it is concluded that these are Pakistanis.
“taliban always were quite peaceful until usa bombed and bombed in 2001 for some made-up reasons.”
Yes, Taliban were only beheading people and killing any women that were not covered to help them. Yes, very peace loving, broad minded people. Islam was all finished and extinct before they came and saved IT. Oh Taliban, our saviors. For 1400 years Islam didnt make any progress until you came. Such adoring people. I love you Talibans. Why we bomb you? You are sooo friendly. We stupid. You good, we bad. Please kill more people. Please save Islam. Now Muslims like me living in a non Muslim country can hold our heads so high and are not ashamed to associated with you. We proud now.
Happy?
Stay strong everyone. Aamir is right in saying that the objective of these attacks is to force Pakistan to the negotiating table. There should be no negotiation whatsoever with these guys. Negotiate to save the innocent lives in Waziristan when we have control over it and a boot on the taliban throats. If we negotiate now its a sign of defeat and make these blood thirsty criminals even bolder. My thoughts and prayers are with the people who lost their loved one but resolve is even stronger now. Inshallah if we stay strong we will overcome this menace.
One question I have is the motivation of the female suicide bomber? Revenge, religious duty? Are these the lal masjid brigade coming back to haunt us? We have no one else to blame but ourselves if that is true. If you cultivate and breed hate and intolerance sooner than later you yourself become victim of its convoluted mind. Time to pass legislation that criminalizes hateful and inciteful speech against ANY group.
@tina, saudis have nothing to do with this. your statement is like haraam. should you criticize makkah and the prophet (PBUH) also? so please don’t.
this problem is all south asian problem. who all speaks punjabi, just pakistanis? is ther proof that it is pakistanis behind all this? why pakistanis would attack their own country (execpt military operations forced by usa)? even reportage in news is biased these days, no mention of the countries who are sending troublemakers across the border. blind eye. look at these countries in south asia, not the land of the prophet (PBUH).
taliban always were quite peaceful until usa bombed and bombed in 2001 for some made-up reasons. so don’t just jump to them. they are simple people who can not plan such things. and don’t also just blame lashkar who are doing lots of good, raising money and providing services and facilities for common man. where is the money all of you have given for pakistan?

To Neena:
“I hear you Darweesh, they are surely panicked that’s why they are attacking civilians.’
All the latest attacks have been the Police, the FIA and the Army. They are not panicking and if they are, then they are not showing any signs at all.
They are becoming more and more daring by the day. I expect an attack on the Parlaiment soon if nothing is done about this madness. What’s panicking when you attack one of the country’s most secured headquarters and take over 40 people hostages for eight hrs?
As I said previously, we should not listen to ‘experts’ who are saying that these are signs of ‘last stand’ from these terrorists. All their predictions and analysis has been proved wrong.
