Following 2 photos are the scenes of 2 more cowardly attacks by the enemies of Pakistan in my Lahore and my Peshawar. Very sad and our prayers go to the innocents who got martyred. If anything, these cowardly acts are going to make our resolve stronger against the terrorists. Dawn coverage here and here.

    – “The Taliban are not “our people”, they are our enemies. How much violence and hatred does the Taliban have ton inflict on Pakistan for people like you to finally call them your enemy and support action against these enemies ? Furthermore the Taliban don’t care about you, your life or your rights, hence talks with them is useless.”
    – “totally agree with Aamir Ali, no use to talk with these stone hearted people…they dam care for anyone…”
    – “No body wisely ever distinguished between Taliban and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan. Taliban are the freedom fighters inside Afghanistan and they historicaly and categorically announced that they had no links with the outfits of Tehrik-e-Taliban pakistan. TTP is the band terrorist organization which is running from the inside of Pakistan and getting all funds and amunition from Afghanistan. It was the media and those who were in powers assosiated the same name Taliban for TTP and yet we forgot who were the courageous Talibans. Yet these TTP are our enemies and not Talibans.”
    – “I 100% agree with Muhammed Ali Shan….Talibans are brave fighters while Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan are our real enemies who get aid from India for terrorism….”
    – “Pakistani Taliban are an outgrowth of the Afghan Taliban. Only a fool would distinguish between the two. There is no benefit that a Taliban victory in Afghanistan would bring to Pakistan, only additional misery. Still the Afghan Taliban is somebody else’s problem, Pakistanis need to be united and determined in eliminating the Pakistani taliban psychos.”
    – “yeah our unity is the only thing only reason we standing against them and these blasts are a way to break us all apart”
    – “fark to hy…..both have there own goals….afghan taliban are fighting against US invasion into Pakistan.Well Pakistani terrorists(don’t use word Taliban) are a mob who are working for RAW and other Agency’s agenda’s……US had no right to invade Afghanistan and put them into trouble.”
    – “Salute to the people of Peshawar for there bravery. World record set – 7days 7 blasts!”
    – “to be honest its not there choice. they dont want this record. and neither do this prove their bravery. ”
    – “plz recite: La Ilaaha illa anta subhaanaka inni kunto minazaalimeen, (ayat karima) 10 times for peace in Pakistan. To reach 125000 times, kindly make it your status and forward to as many ppl as possible.”
    – “as if .. they will recite it 250,000 times ..”

Pakistanis cry. Pakistanis die. Pakistanis weep. Pakistanis mourn. Pakistanis plead. Pakistanis sad. Yet, the Western media is unmoved. No Sympathy for the victims. No concern in Western capitals. No empathy for us.

No outrage. No show of support. No solidarity.

The world rose up in one voice to condemn 26/11 attacks in Mumbai. And so did Pakistanis. There was full wall to wall coverage on TV for months. Even one year anniversary received disproportionate media attention last month. Candle light vigils, parades and what not. Why the double standard between Mumbai and Lahore /Rawalpindi/Peshawar/Multan. Newspapers world over mourned for the victims.

If the world and the West continue to act in this manner of callous disregard for Pakistan and Pakistanis, I am afraid the last remaining bonds will be under severe strain.

@babu: Cut out the immature gloating. God knows we in India have our own problems. This should be a time when we support our rational Pakistani counterparts, not throw mud and dance.

As a longtime visitor to this forum, I admire the writing, perspectives, and small articles on art and day-to-day living in Pakistan. Very educational for someone who has never visited.

All strength to your people at this time of struggle! There are _many_ of us in India who view these events with concern and pray for peace in both nations. On their behalf, I apologize for buffoons like babu.

it is beyound words to express the sorrow and grief that i feel for the fellow pakistanis dying in such a tragic manner, however,at the same time i feel it is the time when we have to decide upon certain issues as a nation perhaps for the first time in our past 60 years history. it is the right time to define our responsibilities as responsible and serious citizens of this country and have to speak against all those who are selling our lives to foreigners, whether they are americans, british, indians, iranians, chinese whatsoever and alongwith that we have to decide about our lives rather than mullahs, islamic parties’ leaders and even political parties’ leaders.

we have to admit as a nation that we are in a state of war against so many enemies that it is difficult to name one and then have to prepare our citizens to face thois state of emergency so that such sad incidents can be avoided. Certain safety measures and precautions are to be observed and people need to be properly guided and trained to face an emergency so that they dont panic and death toll can be reduced.

what is happening right now is, which is very unfortunate, we dont feel the pain and suffering of the distant pakistanis. if a bomb blasts in peshawer or quetta for instance it does not bother us and similarly if such a cruel thing befalls upon us in punjab, others are not bothered.
last night when the twin blasts in the moon market were burning innocent people in the vacinity of the market, in the nearby parks marriage ceremonies continued with dances and music amidst the deafening noise of the sirens of ambulances, fire brigade engines. it was simply callous. we need to sensitise our sensibilities and realise the gravity of the situation in which we are right now.

Wake up Pakistanis..your country is getting destroyed in front of your eyes. STOP blaming Americans, Indians and Israle for your own failures. It’s the Pakistani army and ISI that have created these militants..they were fed, sheltered, trained and brained washed by your own people. It’s your hatred against the Indian’s success..yes they still have people who are poor but they also have the one of the largest middle class in the world..look at their development and science achievement (ISRO).. discovring water on the moon, having one of the most advanced space programs, maybe not as good as NASA ..but close. The most resiliant economy and democratice system. Americans, Indians and Israle will keep moving forward no matter what. The question is when are pakistanis going to wake up and realize that there might not be a pakistant if things go as they are and keep pointing the blame on others!!!
