I had convinced myself that I will give the fake degree issue a little break on these pages. But the honorable Chief Minister of Baluchistan, Mr. Aslam Raisani just won’t let me.
This statement from him, made to journalists covering the Baluchistan Assembly session, needs little explanation, but is worth hearing.
“Mera mohqaf saaf hai. Degree, degree hota hai. Woh asli ho ya jaali ho.”“My position is clear. A degree is a degree. Whether it is real or fake.”
But much more revealing that this statement, is the second part of the video. When asked whether it will effect the government if fake degree holders were removed, the Mr. Raisani goes into a rehearsed statement about how he will not let anyone use our land to launch attacks on any ‘humsaiya mulk’ (neighboring country). I am not sure if I understand the logic here. Nor am I sure that he does!
I am surprised to all the folks being surprised on this comment by the CM. What did you expect him to say? The whole system is messed up and for those who think politicians be it from PPP, PML N or others really care about people or Pakistan – PLEASE WAKE UP.
Its the day dreaming that has caused us to be where we are today.
Than any one can be prime minster and president even he did not know how to write his own Name
The government of stupidistan should give two types of degrees, one real and one fake and should not discriminate between the two. .

Education minister does not see fake degrees as “big crime”

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Education Sardar Aseff Ahmed Ali does not see fake degrees as a big crime and said that the cost of fake degrees should not be the ineligibility of the people elected representatives.
“The compensation of some crime should be equal to the nature of that crime and the same applies to the case of fake degrees where the public representatives should not be sent back home merely on the basis of this small mistake,” said Ali.
While addressing to a press conference on Thursday, he said that currently the country was not in the position of holding mid-term elections and such decisions should be taken in the larger interest of public. “We have already witnessed that people of Pakistan have elected the same contestants, who have been declared ineligible by the court for holding fake degrees,” he said.
He said that it was rather the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), which was responsible for scrutinising the nomination papers of all the contestants. “Why haven’t they scrutinised the documents properly when they were submitted to returning officer?” he asked. He said that the entire burden had been put on the people who have public mandate, but those who are actually responsible have not been inquired about.
“Why not the returning officer is inquired? They have 10 to 12 days to scrutinise the documents and then two or three days for objections,” he said while adding that previously there was Election tribunal, who was responsible for taking up such issues.
Khan said that there were many fake degree holders in the cabinet during five year Musharaff regime, but neither media nor judiciary raised their voice against it. “There is no harm in being careful and Supreme Court should have been more careful in taking up this issue,” he said.
He said that he had great respect for judiciary rather he was the one, who got injured for the free judiciary. “We are 99 per cent implementing the orders of the judiciary, as we have great respect for them,” he said.
Moreover Advisor to Prime Minister on Social Sector Shahnaz Wazir Ali said that there was no pressure by government on Higher Education Commission (HEC) over the issue of fake degrees. “HEC was doing its job in transparent way while facing no pressure or hurdle from government side,” she said.
Unfortunatley I have to agree with the CM considering abundance of ‘Parhay likhay jahil’ in our nation. The education available in our country is not focused on improving morales, which was Gen. Musharraf’s intention to bring politicians of good morality. Majority of the students just want to pass their exams, which doesnt necessarily mean that they have learnt something in their schoold. Kids do what their elders do and teachers fo, most of the elders and teachers, specially in govt schools are equivalent to ‘jahil with low morales’…it could take two or more generations to fix the morales or our citizens including politicians when their parents will be educated and have good morales and have respect for others.
