The headline is actually a tweet that has been floating around since the attack on Mehran Naval Aviation Base in Karachi two days ago. As far as I can tell it originated from @thekarachikid. Short. Pithy. Poignant. Depicting a truth that Pakistanis can feel in their bones.

The power of the statement is that the sentiment requires no elaboration. However, it does invite introspection. And, maybe, one question: Everyday in Pakistan does now feel like 9/11. 26/11 and 7/7; but what about the day after everyday? Do Pakistanis react to the day after everyday, the way others reacted to 9/11. 26/11 and 7/7? If not, then why not?

The situation is reminiscent of the limerick-

There was a young lady from Riga,
Who smiled as she rode on a tiger.
They came back from the ride.
    With the lady inside,
And the smile on the face of the Tiger

No great intelligence required to identify who could be who

At this juncture it is very important that –
    Rise people of Pakistan.
    Rise against injustice.
    Rise against ignorance.
    Rise against closed mindset.
Rise against the vested interests which keep you in bondage.
    Rise against prejudice.
    Rise against feudal exploitative system.
Rise against existing land distribution pattern
Go for liberty, equality, fraternity and knowledge and use them for the welfare of humanity and the future is yours.

Things always get back on track – that’s how nature works. Its just matter of time and blood.

I am certain that Pakistani security agencies somehow would able to control all the mess, because they have got the ‘discipline’. Its good that people are pointing out the mistakes, turn it into lessons and it would help them to frame the future.

NOT! fascinated at all with the word 9/11 or 7/11. Wish it wasn’t the Pakistan that takes over the negative news headlines everyday, I still have lot of positive hopes for the country.

Somewhere in the past the country took a wrong turn, may be it was the wrong (non practical) interpretation of the religion or they wanted to be known in the world and have a purposeful life.

I have a ‘faith’ that ultimately the country would be back on a right track because there is no other way.

The country would soon find its missing ‘unity’ in the correct order.

I believe the writer Mohsin Hamid was the first one to put it this way, that (paraphrasing), 9/11, 7/7, and 26/11 has been turned into our 24/7/365.
